The Runaway Cloud
One sunny morning, a little boy named Jack was playing in his backyard. As he looked up at the sky, he saw a tiny, fluffy white cloud floating very close to the ground. It wasn’t like the other clouds—it looked like it was trying to run away!
Jack waved and called out,
"Hello there! What are you doing so close to the ground? Aren’t you supposed to be in the sky?"
The little cloud sighed and said,
"My name is Lulu, and I don’t want to stay in the sky anymore. Everyone wants me to rain, but I don’t like getting things wet!"
Jack laughed kindly and said,
"But rain is wonderful! It helps plants grow, fills rivers, and makes everyone happy."
Lulu frowned.
"I don’t understand how that could be fun. I’d rather stay fluffy and play with the wind."
Jack thought for a moment and then smiled.
"How about this? Let’s go on a little adventure together. I’ll show you what happens when there’s no rain. Maybe you’ll change your mind."
Lulu hesitated, but then she agreed. "Alright, let’s go!"
Stop 1: The Dry Garden
Jack and Lulu arrived at a garden. The flowers were drooping, and their leaves were turning yellow. A tiny daisy whispered weakly,
"Where is the rain? We’re so thirsty."
Lulu felt sad but stayed quiet.
Stop 2: The Animal Pond
Next, they went to a small pond where animals used to drink water. But the pond was empty. A rabbit and a hedgehog sat nearby, looking worried.
"Why hasn’t it rained? We need water to survive," said the rabbit.
Lulu frowned deeply.
"I didn’t know that no rain could cause so many problems," she said softly.
Stop 3: The Mud Playfield
Finally, Jack took Lulu to a farm where children were playing. They were jumping in puddles of dried mud, laughing and pretending to splash. When they saw Lulu, they shouted excitedly,
"A cloud! Will you bring us rain? We love to play in the rain and jump in muddy puddles!"
Hearing their happy voices, Lulu felt her heart warm up. She finally understood how much everyone needed and loved the rain.
Lulu’s Big Decision
Lulu turned to Jack and said,
"Alright, Jack, I think I’m ready to go back to the sky. I’ll try raining, but only if you promise to dance under my rain!"
Jack grinned and said,
"I promise! I’ll be the first one to play in your rain!"
Lulu floated back into the sky, and soon, gentle raindrops began to fall. The garden turned green and bright, the pond filled with water, and the children danced and laughed under the rain.
Lulu felt so happy to see everyone smiling because of her. From that day on, she became the happiest cloud in the sky, raining wherever she was needed.
